Equine Internal Medicine, Critical Care Specialist

Barbara is an Assistant Professor in the section of Large Animal Emergency and Critical care at the CVM. She obtained her DVM at University of Parma, Italy, in 2012 and started her veterinary career as an equine intern in Ireland. Here she continued to work for a few years in private practice splitting her time between hospital-based duties focusing on sick neonates, and critically ill adults and ambulatory work in the nearby racetrack and breeding farms. She completed a Large Animal Medicine residency, followed by a Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care Fellowship at Cornell. She has a particular interest in horses' neonatology and gastro-intestinal disease.
