Ian manages the daily care of the horses and facilities at the Oxley Equestrian Center.

Operations manager

Matt has key oversight of all of Cornell’s Athletics facilities including the Oxley Equestrian Center that houses the Polo and Equestrian Teams. He also brings a wealth of experience in event management, governance and operations of multiple sports at the national level including overseeing National and Ivy League championships across a number of sports.

Financial and organizational management

Jorge is dedicated to the incorporation of business skills and financial competency into veterinary medicine. He oversees the college’s business educational curriculum and supports Cornell Equine through his fervor for equine medicine and his passion for creating networking opportunities between academia and the outside world. 

Equine scientist and Educator

Mandi works on discovering the intricate processes that are required for the birth of a healthy foal programmed for lifelong health, as well as how this can go wrong ending in devastating events such as pregnancy loss. As a scientist who previously worked in equine clinical practice, she is passionate about teaching the next generation of clinician scientists, and using multidisciplinary approaches to advancing equine health that considers impact through the lens of horse owners, clinicians and researchers.  

Equine Internal Medicine

Critical Care Specialist

Barbara is a veterinarian in the section of Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the Cornell Equine and Farm Animal Hospital. She provides specialist level emergency care for both medical and surgical cases. Her areas of research and clinical interests are gastro-intestinal diseases (especially colics) and neonatology.

Reproductive and internal medicine specialist

Dr. Donnelly is a veterinarian with the reproductive medicine section, providing clinical care for mares, stallions, and foals at the Equine Park. Dr. Donnelly is also a researcher, tackling questions related to metabolic health and reproduction in horses. 

Equine immunologist and internal medicine specialist

Educator

Julia is passionate about learning and teaching immunology, and investigating how the immune system of the horse develops and works, and why sometimes it fails. She is curious about how we learn and apply knowledge, and effective strategies for teaching and training veterinary students toward a rewarding career with purpose. She enjoys long-distance riding and has trained horses for endurance discipline. 

Equine extension specialist

Educator

Lindsay teaches courses in equine biology and management, animal behavior, and animal welfare. She also serves as the equine extension specialist for New York State and has special interests in equine behavior and welfare. 

Stem cell biologist

Rebecca is developing equine mammary and gastric organoid cell culture models to study cancer resistance and infectious disease in vitro.
