Athletics equestrian facilities governance, Operations manager

Matt has department supervision of all aspects of the Big Red’s facilities, including serving as the capital planning liaison, rentals, ground and building maintenance and brand operations. He spent nearly two decades overseeing event management, as well as facility and contest scheduling while supervising gymnastics, fencing, sprint football, baseball and women’s soccer. He has served as Regional Site Director of NCAA Quarterfinals in three sports (men’s and women’s lacrosse and women’s ice hockey), as well as NCAA site director for those three sports, in addition to men’s soccer. He has overseen national, regional and league tournament and championship operations for numerous competitions held at Cornell in addition to sitting on the Ivy League Championships Standard Committee. Coats is currently the department’s ECAC Hockey Governance Representative. He has sports supervision oversight of men’s soccer, women’s ice hockey, equestrian and men’s and women’s polo, in addition to facility oversight of Oxley Equestrian Center, Lynah Rink and Barton Hall.
