Equine Veterinary Surgeon, Scientist

Heidi is an associate professor of Large Animal Surgery in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals and Faculty Director of the Cornell Equine Park. Her research investigates the pathophysiology and treatment of musculoskeletal disease, leveraging spontaneous disease models to study osteoarthritis, tendon injury, and other inflammatory and degenerative conditions in horses. Heidi’s lab seeks to advance ‘One Health’ therapeutic design and interventional strategies aimed at restoring cartilage health, improving comfort, and prolonging joint longevity and patient mobility.
