Rebecca McOnie is an Assistant Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada in 2017. Her veterinary career started in Gilbert, Arizona at Arizona Equine Medical & Surgical Centre where she was an intern. Subsequently, in 2021, she completed a residency in large animal surgery at Cornell. Due to her enjoyment of training students, desire to engage in an innovative environment and excitement for advancing science, Rebecca stayed on at Cornell in a Clinical Instructor role. During this time, she completed fellowship training in large animal minimally invasive surgery. She is looking forward to advancing care and techniques centered on equine surgery.
